Wildlife & Waterfalls
A great introduction to what Zambia has to offer, combining the great wildlife of the Savute channel and the roaring waters of the mighty Victoria Falls!
Day 1
Depart from New York (JFK) or Washington Dulles (IAD) for your South African Airways flight to South Africa.
Day 2
On arrival in South Africa, connect on your South African Airways flight to Livingstone.
You will be met by your local English speaking representative on arrival who will transfer you to your lodge.
Stanley Safari Lodge is the perfect gateway to the mighty Victoria Falls and the exclusive get-away in an African setting. Set on a hill bordering the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and overlooking unspoilt bush, Stanley Safari Lodge is only 3km from the Victoria Falls. The views are splendid: the spray of the Falls in the distance, the mighty Zambezi river and on top of that beautiful African sunsets. From either the main garden, the infinity pool or from the privacy of your room, views are unmatched.
Once you have had time to freshen up, enjoy the afternoon with a cruise on the Zambezi River. From the boat you might see some wildlife and of course Africa´s magical sunsets. Drinks and snacks are included.
For dinner, the private table set-up ensures you can enjoy your meal from any place you desire. Just pick a spot: on the upper deck, in the wine cellar, outdoors under the stars or in the infinity pool? Or maybe you would like to have a romantic private dinner in the room? It´s all possible at Stanley Safari Lodge. The European-style cuisine with an African twist will make sure it will meet your appetite.

Day 3
This morning enjoy a tour of the Victoria Falls. The majority of the tour takes place on the other side of the gorge, which is the best for photographic reasons. The best seasons to see the Falls are roughly mid June to mid September (start of the dry season) or mid November to mid January (start of rainy season). Between mid January and mid June the Falls are at its highest, which also means the spray is enormous and part of the view is blocked. Mind your cameras, because you will get wet! As for mid September to mid November, those are the hot dry months and the Falls do dry up to a certain extent. During the months when the spray is big and its full moon, the lunar rainbow is visible. It can be quite spectacular to see a rainbow at night! Usually this phenomena occurs from mid June to mid September and mid January to mid April.

Day 4
After breakfast transfer by road to Kasane Airport for your scheduled flight to Savute.
The area is renowned for its population of bull elephant and for the unique interaction of the resident predator species. The close proximity of wildlife translates itself into the recently refurbished, modern African décor.
Located on the banks of the Savute channel, Savute Safari Lodge is intimate, accommodating only 24 guests in cool thatched timber and glass suites.
All suites have private decks, combined bedroom and sitting areas and en-suite facilities. The sitting area, library and cocktail bar are situated in an exquisite thatch and timber main building.
Savute Safari Lodge boasts a viewing deck, an al fresco dining area and swimming pool which is ideal for watching game at the waterhole. These features set the lodge apart from other typical safari destinations.
Open 4x4 game drives are conducted in the Savute area, including the famous Savute Marsh, and the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills, add magic to a delightful African safari.

Day 5
Activities at Savuti Safari Lodge are centered around game drives throughout the Savute area in open 4x4 safari vehicles. Many trips will incorporate a visit to the Savute Marsh for your chance to see the historic presence of the Savute Channel at the marsh against a teeming backdrop of wildlife. Guests will also enjoy a visit to the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills – a small hilly outcrop which forms a remarkable landmark in the otherwise flat landscape.
Savute lays claim to the second biggest summer zebra migration in Africa, which is determined by the rains but usually occurs between November and December and again between February and April when the zebras move from the rivers in the north in search of the rain-ripe grasslands and full waterholes in the southeast of the park. Often followed by a myriad of predators, the zebra migration is a must for visitors.
