South African Airways Vacations - Terms and Conditions
Once you have decided on your tour or reservations please read the conditions of travel as your booking is subject to the terms listed below. A contract is entered into once your signed booking form and deposits are received by Destination Southern Africa and we accept and confirm the booking.
HOW TO BOOK
For Individuals: A deposit of 30% of the tour or service cost is required to confirm your booking.
For Groups (6 or more people): A Deposit of 20% of the tour or service cost is required to confirm your booking.
The balance of the tour cost is required no later than 60 days prior to your departure or commencement of the tour.
If you book your tour within 60 days of departure, the full amount of the tour or service must be paid when you make the booking.
If the final balance is not received on time, South African Airways Vacations reserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled by you and to levy cancellation charges. Flight payments are to be paid in full at the time of confirmation.
Cancellations: Should you wish to cancel your tour, you must notify South African Airways Vacations in writing. Please state the reason for cancellation as you may be covered by your insurance policy. Should the Client cancel or alter the Tour Package and/or any part thereof and/or the total number of bookings comprising the Tour Package, then and in such event the Client shall forfeit or if payment has yet to be made, shall be responsible for payment of:
a) The deposit applicable to the Component (Tour) Cost, should such cancellation or alteration take place more than 60 days prior to the Commencement Date.
b) 50% of the Component Cost should such cancellation or alteration take place more than 30 days but less than 60 days prior to the Commencement Date.
c) 100% of the Component Cost should such cancellation or alteration take place less than 30 days prior to the Commencement Date.
Should the cancellation or payment terms of any of the suppliers or service providers be more onerous then those listed above then the terms of the supplier or service provider shall prevail.
Please note: The above cancellation policies do not apply to airline tickets. Airline ticket cancellation policies for South Africa
Airways apply as follows:
A: Cancellations Before departure: - USD 350
B: After Departure/No show: - ticket is non-refundable and non-upgradeable.
C: Date and flight changes: - before departure (by issuing agent only) USD 300
D: Date changes - after departure USD 300
E: Before departure, downgrading is not permitted
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT TRAVELERS PURCHASE TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE
INSURANCE: South African Airways Vacations strongly recommends for your protection that you purchase travel insurance to cover cancellation, the loss, damage or theft of luggage and /or personal belongings, and for personal injury, accidents and/ or illness. South African Airways Vacations IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS/INJURY IN ANY RESPECT WHATSOEVER OCCASIONED BY ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED OCCURRENCES: Trip cancellation and interruption insurance is available from South African Airways Vacations.
DOCUMENTATION AND HEALTH: It is the responsibility of the passenger to insure that passports, visas and correct health documents are valid before the commencement of any journey. Ant-malaria precautions are strongly advised and these should commence prior to arrival in Africa. Please consult your physician.
TOUR PRICES: All rates quoted in US dollars. Rates are subject to amendment in the event of any changes in tariffs or rate of exchange.
NOT INCLUDED: Costs of international or domestic airfares unless specifically stated in the itinerary, obtaining passports, visas, inoculations, or other medical expenses, excess baggage charges, airport taxes, items of a purely personal nature such as drinks, laundry, telephone calls, meals and services not specifically stated in the itinerary and / or voucher.
RESPONSIBILITY: South African Airways Vacations acts only as an agent for the passenger in regard to travel, whether by railroad, motor coach, rental car, boat or airplane and assumes no reliability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason whatsoever, or through acts of default of any company or person engaged in conveying the passenger or when carrying out the arrangements of the tour. South African Airways Vacations accepts no responsibility for personal property loss or additional expenses due to delay or changes or other causes. Also, any and all such losses and expenses will have to be borne by the passenger as tour rates provide for arrangements only for the time stated.
The right is reserve to cancel any tour prior to departure, in which case full refund will constitute full settlement by the passenger. No refund will be made for unused portion of the tour unless arranged prior to departure from the USA. The right is reserved to decline, to accept or retain any person as a member or any tour. The right is reserved to withdraw any tour, or any part of a tour, and to make such alterations in the itinerary that seem necessary and desirable, and to substitute hotel accommodations, whenever necessary.
DISCLOSURE NOTICE: Please be aware that during your participation in a South African Airways Vacations safari tour, certain risks and dangers may arise including, but not limited to, the hazards of traveling in undeveloped areas, travel by boat, train, automobile, aircraft or other means of conveyance, the forces of nature, political unrest and accident or illness in remote regions without means of rapid evacuation or medical facilities. Also be aware and clearly understand that South African Airways Vacations will not have liability regarding provision of medical care or the adequacy of any care that may be rendered. You are voluntarily participating in these activities with the knowledge of the dangers involved and hereby agree to accept any risks.
SERVICE PROVIDER REPRESENTATION: South African Airways Vacations endeavors at all times to ensure that:-
the Service Providers meet such standards as may be represented in the brochures supplied by such Service Providers; and the brochures supplied by the Service Providers accurately reflect the Tour Package to which such brochure relates. Not withstanding the aforementioned, South African Airways Vacations accepts no responsibility or liability for the accuracy of the information contained in the Tour Brochure and/or any representation and/or misrepresentation, loss, injury, damage, delay and/or inconvenience which may be suffered by the Client and/or the Tour Group arising out of any act and/or omission and/ or misrepresentation on the part of the Service Provider, its servants, agents, contractors, sub-contractors, guests and the like. The use of any aspects or portion of the Tour Package shall at all times be subject to the terms and conditions imposed by the Service Provider and any lawful directives given by the Service Provider or their duly authorized representatives.
VIS MAJOR: The Client and/or any member of the Tour Group shall not have any claim of any nature whatever against
South African Airways Vacations for any failure by South African Airways Vacations to carry out any of its obligations under the contract as a result of vis major, including but without being limited to any strike, lock-out, shortage of labor or supplies and/ or goods, delays in transport, accidents of any kind, any default or delay by any Service Provider, riot, political or civil disturbances, the elements, any act of any State or Government or any authority, or any other cause whatever beyond South African Airways Vacations’s control. If for any cause available supplies of the goods or services forming part of the Tour Package become, or will in its opinion become, be insufficient to meet the requirements of all its Clients at any time, then SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS VACATIONS shall be entitled to alter the nature of the Tour Package and supply similar services and facilities to its Clients or allocate such services or facilities amongst its Clients in such manner as it deems fair and equitable, and to vary its obligations to the Client accordingly, until such time as South African Airways Vacations is satisfied that the facilities and services at its disposal are sufficient to meet the requirements of all its Clients. If the performance of South African Airways Vacations obligations herein are unduly delayed by any of the causes set out above, then the Client shall be entitled, subject to obtaining the previous written consent of South African Airways Vacations, to cancel the affected portion of the Tour Package.
