Day 1

Depart from New York (JFK) or Washington Dulles (IAD) for your South African Airways flight to South Africa.

Day 2

On arrival in Johannesburg you will connect onwards for your flight on South African Airways to Cape Town.

On arrival in Cape Town you will be met by your driver for the short transfer to your hotel. With its spectacular location in the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and its stunning views of Table Mountain, the Only&Only is a destination unto itself. Discerning travelers and Capetonians alike are extended a warm welcome to dine on the celebrated cuisines of Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa, revel in the high energy vibe of Vista Bar and sample rare and undiscovered vintages at the stunning Wine Loft. Day 3

You have several days at leisure to explore the beautiful city of Cape Town. Maybe take a trip in the cable car up Table Mountain or a boat ride for a poignant visit to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for many years. Perhaps take time to explore the vibrant V&A Waterfront with its many shops, restaurants and activities available as well as the fascinating Two Oceans Aquarium. In the summer months maybe head for the white sand beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay for people watching and soaking up the African Sun. Whatever else, you will not be at a loss for things to do!

Day 6

After breakfast transfer to Cape Town Airport for your flight to Port Elizabeth.

On arrival at Port Elizabeth Airport you will be met and transferred to Shamwari Game Reserve.

Guests will be met by their ranger and given an introductory talk about the days ahead and then checked into their rooms. Enjoy lunch at the lodge and some time to relax. In the late afternoon you will be taken on your first game drive. Your personal game ranger will provide insightful and valuable information about the fauna and flora. Upon returning to the lodge, you will enjoy a pre-dinner presentation by a ranger covering the following: - * animal tracking * birds * insects * snakes * ranger training * photography

Day 7

A full Breakfast is served to start your day. This morning you will partake in a very unique safari to see the white rhino and cheetah. A bush lunch out in the wild is then served. In the afternoon, guests are taken behind the scenes and will enjoy part of the Ranger Training program, which will include the following activities: - * tracking (spoor) * shooting * birding

Dinner is served at the lodge this evening.

Day 8

A full breakfast is served to start your day. The day is enjoyed with the following activities: safari * leopard telemetric tracking plus equipment demonstration * ranger training followed by lunch which is served at the lodge. Wildlife Centre Tour including: * Rehabilitation Centre * wildlife management discussion * demonstration of game capture equipment. Enjoy a bush dinner with star gazing and a night safari before returning to the lodge.

Day 9

A full breakfast is served to start your day, followed by a photographic safari with a specialist. Following a de-brief, transfer to Port Elizabeth Airport for your flight to Johannesburg and onward connection to the United States.

Day 10

Arrival in the United States at New York JFK or Washington Dulles airports.
