Cape Town
Cape Town has so much to offer it could almost be a vacation on its own. Located on the southern most tip of Africa, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet, this city combines a relaxed and laid back atmosphere with a unique energy that attracts tourists from all over the globe.
Although South Africa has 11 official languages, English, particularly in Cape Town, is the first language. The widespread acceptance of English, coupled with the "areas" Mediterranean climate means that Cape Town is often described as ‘a little piece of Europe’ on the tip of Africa. You can decide for yourself.
Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront, Cape Point, Robben Island and Camps Bay are some of the main attractions of the city; each one being so different in what they offer.
The trendy beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton offer South Africa’s equivalent of Southern California – beautiful sunsets, sun kissed bodies, and a beach side road lined with bars and restaurants that attract the glamorous and late night owls.
If you are looking for a more explorative experience there are many options. Hike or take the cable car up to the top of the majestic Table Mountain, step back in time with an historical and emotionally moving visit to Robben Island or District Six, indulge in some wine tasting at one of the country’s fine vineyards, take a drive around the peninsula to Cape Point via the penguins at Boulders Beach, or relax in Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. For the more adventurous there are activities such as surfing, paragliding, kite surfing, horse riding and more.
Hotels that we recommend will offer you assistance in whatever activity you would like to do. Our carefully selected choice of hotels offer something different for everyone – The Southern Sun properties, The Table Bay and the One & Only are all impressive resorts in the V&A Waterfront area. The Bay Hotel overlooks Camps Bay beach and is in walking distance from all the bars and restaurants.
The Protea Hotel Fire and Ice is suited to a younger, active clientele and the Protea Hotel Victoria Junction is close to the eclectic, outdoor shopping centre – The Cape Quarter.
