Day 1

Depart from New York (JFK) or Washington Dulles (IAD) for your South African Airways flight to South Africa.

Day 2

On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Wonderful sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean assist in making the Southern Sun Waterfront Cape Town a preferred holiday destination. Within walking distance to the V&A Waterfront, this hotel is superbly located to offer every guest easy access to the sights and sounds of Cape Town. Day 3

Over the next two days, enjoy the adventure as you explore and discover the scenic beauty of the Cape Peninsula and winelands of the Western Cape.

Today embark on a full day Cape Peninsula tour. Follow the Atlantic coast past Clifton, Camps Bay & Llandudno, to the fishing village at Hout Bay. Here you have the option of doing a 1/2-hour scenic boat ride to visit an impressive seal colony, then it’s on and over Chapman’s Peak Drive, to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. We take mountain bikes along for those who wish to get out of the bus and smell the sea air and the many flowers. You can cycle as much or as little as you like, as the support van is always nearby. For real fresh air there is also a short cliff top hike from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope. We have a picnic lunch somewhere in the reserve and return home via a rare colony of Jackass penguins at Boulders Beach on the Indian Ocean.

Day 4

This is a truly mellow day spent absorbing the rich beauty and history of the greater Cape Winelands. We visit Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschoek, with a cellar tour in one, and tastings in each region. Enjoy spectacular views during a sumptuous picnic lunch with some cycling amongst the vineyards – nothing too taxing, just enough to get a little exercise and make you even more thirsty! By the time you return you should be feeling pretty rosy!

Day 5

Today depart on the thrill of all thrills...a trip to see the Great White! Seeing the greatest and one of the oldest animals on the planet is truly a unique, awe-inspiring and a humbling experience. Most people arrive with fear and trepidation and leave with admiration and a newfound respect for these majestic animals. Experience the thrill of being underwater and surrounded by Great White Sharks! Feel the exposure of free diving while remaining safe inside the cage, or participate from the boat and see the Great White Shark in all its magnificence. Trips are weather dependent, last approximately 4 hours and your launch time will be confirmed well in advance of your trip.

Day 6

After breakfast transfer to Cape Town Airport for your flight to Johannesburg and onward flight to Hoedspruit. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your lodge situated in the heart of the African bush. Here you will experience unparalleled luxury and splendor in an unspoilt environment. You will enjoy the next few days experiencing exclusive safari adventures in both open Land Rovers, and on foot. The private reserve is home to an abundance of species including the "Big Five". Being predominantly open savannah and with a near perfect year round climate, it is the ideal African safari holiday destination.

Day 7

Enjoy morning and late afternoon game safaris in the African bush with experienced game rangers and Shangaan trackers. Game drives are undertaken at the best times of the day to avoid the harsh African sun whilst the rest of your day may be enjoyed at leisure at the lodge. Choose to take a walking safari, the focus being on the small things in the bush, learning to track animals, how termites live, what the various trees and plants are used for, etc. Encounters with animals while on foot are always exciting! From hearty breakfasts to gourmet dinners and enthralling game safaris, you are sure to be tantalized during your stay.

Day 8

Today, you will be transferred to “Elephant Whispers” for an ultimate elephant experience. Experience the thrill of being close to these magnificent creatures and witness their intelligence, their compassionate nature and sheer delight interacting with their human counterparts. The interaction with the elephant offers you the opportunity to touch the elephant, exchange trunk greetings and offer tasty treats. Experienced elephant handlers share their in-depth knowledge of fascinating elephant behavior. You will also embark on a short ride. Saddle-up and enjoy a different perspective, historically a privilege only reserved for kings.

Day 9

After breakfast and a last morning game drive transfer to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight to Johannesburg and onward connection to the USA.
